That's because this movie has no spoken dialogue and absolutely no other signs of life. The movie is about a woman who cheats on her husband and feels he deserves to know. This film is very difficult to follow, not because it is too intense or complicated, but because we only see the protagonist from the neck down as she walks around doing mundane tasks such as eating spaghetti and moving furniture. The music is absolutely dreadful and there is no way anyone would listen to this for more than five seconds if they were not compelled to do so by the subtitles. The film uses the same device repeatedly: it shows a woman's body in motion such as sitting, walking, sitting some more and then we see her face when she is thinking conflicted thoughts about her actions. The only indication we get that the movie is in motion at all is when one of the characters goes into slow motion or when a picture flashes on screen. For example, one scene shows Elena getting into a car with her lover while another shot flashes onto screen showing its interior. Is she reading his mind? We do not know. As far as the plot goes, the writer does a great job of submerging it in a sea of confusion. However, there is a murder in the film that is very important to the plot. In fact, although I do not know how or why, apparently someone has been murdered. The concept is interesting but it does not make for a good movie. The mystery of why one person has been slain and who did it is essentially an afterthought to keep people engaged with a story that does not make any sense. Essentially, Elena Undone is a film about people who cannot communicate with one another and cannot connect with each other on an emotional level. It is an attempt to be artsy but it ends up being so confusing that it is impossible to follow. I would not recommend this film. However, if you are an aspiring filmmaker looking for some inspiration, Elena Undone will help get your wheels turning. Also, I would like to note that this movie will be impossible for anyone who cannot read subtitles or cannot understand English very well.
